Last Updated: October 24, 2025
1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using BudgetMan ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
BudgetMan is operated by David Cornelson ("we," "us," or "our"), an individual proprietor. BudgetMan is not currently incorporated.
2. Description of Service
BudgetMan is a web-based budget management application that operates entirely in your web browser. The Service allows you to:
- Track income and expenses
- Create and manage budgets
- Import transactions from CSV files
- Automatically categorize transactions using rules
- Generate reports and insights
3. Data Storage and Privacy
Important: Your data remains under your control.
BudgetMan is designed with privacy as a core principle. All personal and financial data, including but not limited to transactions, budgets, account information, and categorization rules, is stored exclusively in your personal cloud storage (currently Google Drive's application data folder).
We do NOT store, transmit, or have access to:
- Your transaction data
- Your budget information
- Your financial account details
- Your CSV import files
- Any other personal financial information
The only personal information we collect and store is your email address, which is used solely for license validation and account management purposes.
4. User Accounts and Authentication
To use BudgetMan, you must authenticate with Google OAuth 2.0 to grant the application permission to store data in your Google Drive's application data folder. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Google account
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
You may revoke BudgetMan's access to your Google Drive at any time through your Google account settings. This will prevent the application from accessing your data but will not delete your data from your Google Drive.
5. License and Subscription
BudgetMan offers both free and paid subscription tiers. Payment processing is handled by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our authorized payment processor.
5.1 Free Tier
The free tier provides basic budgeting functionality with limitations as described on our pricing page.
5.2 Pro Tier
The Pro tier subscription provides access to advanced features. Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at purchase.
5.3 License Validation
Pro tier licenses are validated periodically (approximately weekly) to verify active subscription status. The application will function offline between validation checks.
5.4 Refunds and Cancellations
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you will retain Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the free tier. Refund requests are handled on a case-by-case basis within 30 days of purchase.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
- Circumvent license validation or feature restrictions
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Share your license key with others
- Use the Service to store data that violates any applicable law
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its original content, features, and functionality, is owned by David Cornelson and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
Your data remains your property. By using the Service, you retain all rights to your financial data, which is stored in your personal cloud storage.
8. Third-Party Services
BudgetMan integrates with the following third-party services:

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties

12. Changes to Service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the Service (or any part thereof) at any time with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
Since your data is stored in your personal cloud storage, you will retain access to your data even if the Service is discontinued.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which David Cornelson resides, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
15. Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
